The nursery aims for a positive relationship between staff and parents ensuring that their child’s needs are met. A genuine commitment to work collaboratively with parents is what makes the nursery unique. This partnership is reflected through the settling-in period, communication, community & nursery events. To guaranty a continuous communication, e-mails are sent out regularly informing parents about any issues or events, which need their attention. In parallel, the monthly newsletters along with the social media provide a review of previous activities, a guide for the upcoming themes, topics, events and articles of general news.
Social media brings the parent closer to the child’s development at the nursery. Parents will be able to see a time line of the child’s activities at the nursery with photos, videos and notes. In parallel, parents could contribute with the child’s own photos and notes from home.
Additionally, the nursery notice boards are regularly updated with new thematic activities, events and news.
To keep parents updated on their child’s developmental progress, a parent/teacher conference is held twice a year, giving parents a formal opportunity to discuss the child’s progress with the class teacher/key-person. In addition, further detail of each child’s progress is conveyed to parent through reports on a weekly and termly basis. Also, the nursery doors are open and the nursery manager is available to parents and prospective children at all times, of course depending on the nursery daily operation.
Equally, parents have opportunities to become actively involved in their child’s life at the nursery by attending and helping at the events and fieldtrips, particularly, those organized to celebrate UAE national day and cultural events.
